Ayiri Emami: A Critical Stakeholder In Niger Delta, Says Amnesty Programme Boss
Dr. Dennis Otuaro, the Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, has said that Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Chief Ayirimi Emami has remained a critical stakeholder in the Niger Delta region, with his influence cutting across various tribes in the region.
Otuaro stated this on Sunday when he paid a working visit to the Ubeji residence of Emami, in Warri South local government area of Delta State, commending Ayirimi for his role in strengthening national security in the Niger Delta region.
He urged Ayirimi to continue to ensure peace and security reign in the Niger Delta, while urging all stakeholders to rally around his office to sustain national and rural security in the region.
He said; “Under this mandate given today on behalf of Atabrata, under this our mandate, there’s no room for failure.
Dr Otuaro said that his visit was part of his commitment to relate with critical stakeholders and leaders in the Niger Delta struggle, saying, “Atabrata is a critical stakeholder everywhere; Ijaw, Itsekiri, Urhobo, Ilaje, Ndokwa. If you don’t understand where he’s going, ask him and he will explain to you.”
He said that his earlier meeting with stakeholders was geared toward how they can sustain the relative peace in the region.
“I held a meeting earlier in Warri and now I am here to engage with Chief Ayirimi Emami, who is also a very important stakeholder in the struggle,”, the PAP Boss, said
Continuing, he noted: “Life is a marathon. I came to Warri for the stakeholders meeting, the meeting was for camp leaders of the struggle. Why are we talking to camp leaders? It’s because of the mandate of peace in the Niger Delta, to see that we sustain national and rural security.
“We are talking about the nationalities of the Niger Delta. Some people are hungry, some need accommodation, some need medical help, some need employment”.
Otuaro, however, pledged to address the issues faced by students under the amnesty program, assuring Chief Emami that issues regarding students of PAP, whose allowances and school fees, have not been paid and their certificates released , will be addressed”.
In his brief remarks, thanked the Amnesty boss for initiating the meeting and reaching out to him personally, expressing confidence that the responsibility given to him by President Bola Tinubu, will be successfully carried out to the betterment of Niger Deltans and other critical stakeholders in the country.
Emami, during the visit offered his support and prayers for Otuaro’s success in his mandate.
