Adeleke Urges Tinubu to Stop Alleged Plot to Hijack Osun Collation Centres

Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has called on President Bola Tinubu to prevent alleged attempts by “desperate and rejected politicians” to disrupt or hijack collation centres during the state governorship election.

Adeleke made the call in a social media post on Saturday as the collation of election results began across the state.

The governor urged Tinubu to direct security agencies deployed to Osun to protect the collation process and ensure the integrity of the election.

He said reports of alleged attempts to disrupt collation centres were “deeply concerning and unacceptable,” particularly given the large number of security personnel deployed for the election.

Adeleke appealed to the Nigeria Police Force, Department of State Services, Nigerian Army, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and other security agencies to protect the process and support the Independent National Electoral Commission in concluding the election.

He also urged the president to ensure that the votes of Osun residents are protected and that the final outcome reflects their choice.

“The people of Osun State have spoken with one voice, and their voices must be heard. Their votes must be protected, and their mandate must be respected,” Adeleke said.
