10 Arrested as Police Bust Suspected Human Parts Dealers in Oyo

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested 10 suspected members of a human parts syndicate and recovered suspected human remains and charms during intelligence-led operations across the state.
The suspects were arrested at separate hideouts in Iseyin and Saki areas following months of intelligence gathering and discreet surveillance by operatives of the command’s Monitoring Unit.
According to the command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, police searches of the suspects’ hideouts led to the recovery of a suspected human heart, human flesh, pieces of human skull and assorted charms.
Ayanlade said the recovered exhibits had been secured for forensic examination as investigations continue into their source, procurement and intended use.
He added that the suspects were assisting investigators in unraveling the activities of the syndicate, while efforts were ongoing to identify and arrest other members.
The Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Abimbola Olugbenga, commended the operatives for the intelligence-led operation and assured residents that the command would continue its efforts to rid the state of criminal elements and protect human life.
