Published

on

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election, saying the victory confirms the confidence the people of the state have in his leadership.

Tinubu, in a statement issued on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, said Adeleke’s victory was a reflection of the will of the people and a boost to Nigeria’s democratic development.

“I called Governor Ademola Adeleke earlier today to congratulate him on his election victory in Osun State. His victory once again confirms the people of Osun State’s confidence in him,” the President said.

He urged Adeleke to use his second term to unite the people of Osun State and pursue policies that would promote growth, stability and socio-economic development, irrespective of how citizens voted during the election.

The President also commended the other candidates for their participation, saying their involvement strengthened the country’s democratic culture.

Tinubu further praised the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies for conducting what he described as a peaceful and transparent election that produced a clear winner.
