‎How Police Reclaim Fegin Kanawa from Bandits, Thousands of Displaced Residents Return

Published

on

More than 5,000 displaced residents have returned to Fegin Kanawa community in Zamfara State following a successful police-led security operation that restored peace to the area after months of devastating bandit attacks.

‎The community had remained largely deserted as persistent attacks by armed bandits forced residents to flee their homes, abandon farmlands, and seek refuge in safer locations. The difficult terrain and concerns over potential security threats had further complicated efforts to resettle the area.

‎ ln a determined effort to restore normalcy, the Commissioner of Police in Zamfara State, CP Ahmed Mohammed Bello, personally led a strategic security operation aimed at reclaiming the community and rebuilding public confidence.

‎The return of displaced families was marked by emotional scenes as residents reunited with their homes, farms, and means of livelihood after months of uncertainty and displacement.

‎Residents and community leaders commended the police command for its commitment and courage in securing a location many had considered inaccessible due to security challenges.

‎Community leaders described the development as a major milestone in the state’s efforts to combat insecurity, noting that the sustained presence of security personnel has renewed hope among residents and encouraged them to rebuild their lives and communities.

‎Authorities have assured residents that security operations will continue in the area to consolidate the gains achieved and prevent a resurgence of criminal activities.
