The House of Representatives has finally spoken out about the alleged assault on a Bolt driver, Stephen Abuwatseya, by Alexander Ikwechegh, a member representing Aba North/South Federal Constituency of Abia State.

Ikwechegh was caught on video physically confronting Abuwatseya and using threatening language, boasting that he’d deal with him despite the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun’s intervention.

In a video footage which went viral on Monday, the lawmaker allegedly threatened to make the bolt driver ‘disappear’ without trace.

As elected officials, we hold ourselves to the highest standards of ethical conduct and accountability in our official engagements and privately.
