Heartless Pregnant Woman! Inside Details Of How She Faked Own Kidnap, Collected N2mn Ransom From Husband, Shared Loot With Boyfriend

By Molly Kilete
Wonders, they say, will never end. How would you describe a situation where a married woman faked her own kidnap, collected N2 million from her husband as ransom and shared the loot with her boyfriend.
This is the story of Mrs Rosemary Ubah, a 30-year-old pregnant mother of three.
Mrs Ubah had left their home located at Saburi II Dei-Dei, in the Federal Capital Territory(FCT), on March 11, on the pretense that she was going for antenatal.
But rather than proceed to the hospital for the antenatal, she diverted and went straight to her boyfriend’s house who incidentally lived on the same street on the estate with them and stayed in the love nest for eight days.
Hours after she got to the house of Mr Walter Ezeala, her lover, Walter put a call to her husband, Mr Chiedozie Ubah, using her mobile phone number and informed him that his wife had been kidnapped. He went ahead to demand for a huge sum of money as ransom which was later reduced to N2 million.
While the negotiation was going on, Mr Ubah, who unknown to him that his wife was having a good time in the arms of another man that lives on the same street with him, struggled to get the money. He refused to report the incident to the police for fear that the kidnappers might kill his dear wife if he blows the alarm.
As days went by, the kidnapper-lover man, called Mr Mbah again and asked him to pay the N2 million ransom into his wife account, which he did.
After the payment, the wife remained in her lover’s house for a few more days before she was eventually released.
On the day that she was released from her kidnapper’s den honeymoon, Walter, her boyfriend, drove her out of the estate without being traced, dropped her at a particular spot far from their estate and put a call to her husband to come and pick her up.
On hearing the good news that she has been released by the kidnappers, the husband rushed to the scene and picked his wife up.
The husband who has been worried all the while that his wife was held captive, decided to first take his wife to the hospital for medical check up, but the wife vehemently rejected the offer, insisting that she wanted to go home to see her children.
The husband who started suspecting foul play at her response, took her home, but made a private arrangement with a midwife to come to their home to check his wife.
Not knowing her husbands plan, the midwife arrived their home with her medical tools shortly after they got home and checked the wife’s blood pressure.
To their surprise, her blood pressure was stable and did not show any sign of somebody who had been kidnapped.
The husband again expressed shock and wondered why his blood pressure had been up since the kidnap incident while the person who was kidnapped was medically stable.
It was at this point that the husband decided to report the matter to the police. He took the wife personally to the Gwagwa Police Division and told police officers on duty of how his pregnant wife left home to the hospital for a scan, but did not return home.
When she saw that her game was up, she decided to open up and confessed to the police investigators of what transpired.
Although she did not give any reason she embarked on the evil action, she said she gave a whooping N800,000, to her boyfriend and took N1.2 million, saying that they had spent out of the money before she was released to go home.
The police immediately went into investigation and got her boyfriend, Walter, arrested and took him to the police station.
Walter, who is still single told Sunday Sun of how Rosemary approached him about the business, but did not tell him the man they were about to dupe was actually her husband.
Walter said that the woman told him that Mr Ubah was her business partner and that he had refused to pay her own share of the money from the deal they carried out.
The suspect who is now in police custody, denied having any affair with Mrs Ubah, whom he accommodated in his house for good eight days.
Walter, confessed that it was actually the wife’s decision that they used her mobile phone number to call the husband and that the money for the ransom be paid into her personal bank account.
Narrating how he met his lover whom he eventually faked her kidnap, Walter said: “I actually met her in our estate. I am a businessman, I do business online and she introduced me to this online business. One day, she approached me and told me that that the man borrowed money from her and threatening her and that she wants to recover the money because she wants to do something with it and I agreed.
“That was how she staged the kidnapping and solicited me to help her. She then told her husband that she was going to the hospital for a scan and ended up in my house because we live on the same street, my house is not far from their own. As planned, the husband paid the N2 million into her account and she gave me N800,000 as my own share of the money.”
On how he met the woman, he said: “I met her at an eatery where I usually go to eat and I was playing this game on my phone and I screamed and she came to where I was sitting and asked if I also play the game and I asked which game, chess? And she said no that she thought it was F99 game that people usually play online and make huge amount of money and I said no.
“And she introduced me to the game, I used her referral and she put me through that game that was how we got close.
“After the kidnap incident, I think I got about N550,000, as my share and I sent the remaining to her account number because she sent two bank account numbers for me to send the money to her.
“I feel bad about the whole incident, I never knew it would get to this point where I will be paraded by the police before newsmen.”
The suspect who was recently paraded by the FCT Police Command, however, was not paraded alongside his lover after her husband pleaded with the police not to parade her before the public.
The FCT Police Commissioner, Benneth Igwe, however, told newsmen that the suspects would be charged to court after investigations.
