Fresh revelations have emerged how the Delta state Commander of Anti-Cult Volunteer Corps, Ogu-Chinuwa Austyne Emuamaka, was reportedly murdered in broad daylight by gunmen now believed to be cultist.

BIGPENNGR.COM had reported the deceased popularly known as Austyne Emu was killed last week Saturday night by unknown gunmen during a visit to Kwale.

However, investigation revealed that the deceased was shot dead by some yet-to-identified  members of Black Axe cult group in Kwale, Ndokwa West local government area of the State.

Eyewitness said that the anti-cult commander was killed at the residence of a former commissioner who represented Ndokwa West in the Board of the Delta State Oil Producing Development Commission (DESOPADEC).

Sources alleged that the former commissioner identified as Hon. Fidelis Opute, had invited Austne Emu to his house in Kwale where he was shot repeatedly by some members of the black axe confraternity.

It was not clear if the said Opute was instrumental to the killing in his residence but multiple sources are allegedly pointing accusing fingers at him as he was said to have played host to some of the cult ‘boys’ at his residence same day they killed Emu.

Sources claimed that Opute invited the deceased to his house unknowing to him (Emu) that the said Opute also had some black axe members in his residence for a meeting.

“Opute, the former Commissioner representing Ndokwa west local government in the Board of DESOPADEC invited him for a meeting in his house unknown to my president that same man was hosting some axe men in his house.

Sources claimed that Emu, the father of three must have been set up to be killed by his guest who has since fled the town ostensibly for fear of being mob.

“More than 60 axe men where also in his house having meeting with the same man after the meeting with Austyne Emu, as he was driving out from the man’s compound some axe men shot him”, a close ally of the deceased who preferred anonymity disclosed.

BIGPENNGR.COM gathered that irked by the development, some irate mobs in Kwale razed down Opute residence including his car and other valuables in the compound.

Opute who couldn’t be reach for comment as his mobile number is switched off, had since fled Kwale. He is aspiring to be chairman of Ndokwa West in the fourth coming Delta LGA elections on March 2021.

A top police chief who confirmed the incident claimed that the deceased, was with him the previous day up till in the evening, disclosing that they had a successful deliberation and planned to meet again before he met his untimely death.

Let us all patner with the police to bring them to justice and that those who murdered our friend and working colleague will know no peace until they are arrested, investigated and eventually charge to court”, he said.
