Metie was reportedly shot dead at about 9:pm on Monday by yet-to-be identified armed men who attacked Merogun, a volatile area of Warri, the commercial hub of Delta state.

According to local sources, the deceased was said to have been waylaid by masks-wearing hoodlums who opened fire on him.

Niger Delta Today reports that the victim gave up the ghost at the scene of the incident before help could come his way.

In a related development, a bricklayer simply identified as Uruese has been reportedly murdered by gunmen suspected to be cultists.

Uruese, fondly called “Iron Monkey”, was killed at Orerokpe in Okpe council area of the state last Friday.
