Sowore Alleges DSS Planted Tracking Device on His Vehicle in Port Harcourt During NBA Conference

Activist and Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has alleged that operatives of the Department of State Services, DSS, tracked his movements and planted an electronic tracking device on a vehicle he used in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Sowore made the claim on Monday while attending the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, Annual General Conference in the state capital.

In a statement, he said that after delivering a speech at a Kay Hikers gathering, he and his team noticed “strange movements” and decided to switch vehicles.

“That was when we discovered an electronic tracking device attached underneath the security vehicle we had used that night,” he alleged.

“They are really scared!” Sowore added.

The @OfficialDSSNG has not responded to the allegation as of press time. Efforts to reach the Rivers State Command of the DSS for comment were unsuccessful.

The NBA Annual General Conference, which is holding in Port Harcourt, has attracted thousands of lawyers and public figures from across the country.

Security agencies are yet to confirm or deny Sowore’s claim.
