Ogorugba Congratulates Ashakah, Ozue on Their Emergence as APC Candidates Isoko North Constituencies I and II

The Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. (Elder) Prince Godwin Ogorugba, has congratulated Orobosa Ashakah and Frank Ozue on their emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates for the Delta State House of Assembly, Isoko North Constituencies 1 and 2, respectively.
The congratulatory message followed the peaceful and successful conduct of the August 22, 2026, APC House of Assembly primary elections in Isoko North and other selected constituencies across Delta State.
Ogorugba described the peaceful conduct of the primaries as a positive development and an indication of the growing commitment of stakeholders to democratic values, saying the exercise had further demonstrated the importance of allowing party members and delegates to freely exercise their choices in a peaceful and orderly environment.
According to him, the successful conduct of the primaries represents a step towards strengthening democratic practice and deepening confidence in the electoral process.
The council chairman commended the people of Isoko North Constituencies 1 and 2 for their peaceful disposition throughout the exercise, stressing that the absence of rancour, violence and other forms of electoral misconduct was worthy of commendation.
Ogorugba also applauded the delegates for exercising their democratic rights by voting for Ashakah and Ozue as the APC candidates for constituencies 1 and 2, respectively, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Ogorugba said the outcome of the primaries had further demonstrated the maturity, political consciousness and responsible disposition of the people of Isoko North, noting that the peaceful nature of the exercise was particularly significant at a time when political activities across the country were gradually gathering momentum ahead of the 2027 elections.
The chairman also described the emergence of the two candidates as an opportunity for them to justify the confidence reposed in them by the party and the people even as he urged Ashakah and Ozue to see their emergence not merely as a political victory, but as a call to greater responsibility and service to humanity and make the interests, welfare and development of their constituents their primary consideration as they commence preparations for the general elections.
Ogorugba further urged them to promote unity, peace and inclusive representation, while maintaining close contact with the people and ensuring that their political activities remain focused on issues that directly affect the lives and wellbeing of their constituents.
Ogorugba also called on all members and supporters of the APC who participated in the primaries but did not emerge as candidates to accept the outcome in good faith and work together for the success of the party, stressing that the strength of any political party lies in its ability to accommodate divergent interests, resolve differences peacefully and unite behind its candidates after a transparent electoral process.
Earlier, the Returning Officer for the Isoko North State Constituencies primaries, Hon. James Agouye, PhD, declared Orobosa Ashakah and Frank Ozue winners of their respective primary elections after they secured the highest number of votes.
Agouye commended the delegates and stakeholders in Isoko North for their peaceful conduct, which, he said, contributed to the successful completion of the exercise and urged party members, delegates and voters across Isoko North to sustain the spirit of peace and sportsmanship demonstrated during the primaries, stressing that such an atmosphere would be necessary for the conduct of peaceful, credible and transparent elections in the state in 2027.
The Returning Officer also encouraged the newly emerged candidates to remain committed to the people and to conduct their campaigns in a manner that would promote unity, development and peaceful coexistence across Isoko North.
