Air Peace staff and passengers have paid tribute to Nigerian military personnel with a rousing standing ovation as they boarded a flight in Abuja.

A video capturing the heartwarming moment has gone viral on social media, showing passengers and airline staff rising to their feet to applaud the military personnel as a gesture of appreciation for their service to the nation.

‎The gesture is part of a new initiative reportedly introduced by Air Peace Chairman, Allen Onyema, aimed at recognising and appreciating members of Nigeria’s security forces.

‎Under the initiative, Air Peace staff are directed to applaud military and police personnel when they board the airline’s flights and accord them priority boarding.

The move is intended to demonstrate public appreciation for the sacrifices made by members of the armed forces and other security personnel in protecting the country and maintaining national security.

The Abuja incident has since attracted widespread reactions online, with many Nigerians commending the airline for the gesture and describing it as a meaningful show of respect for the nation’s servicemen and women.
