Isoko North Chairman Flags off Measlle-rubella Vaccination Campaign

Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon Godwin Ogorugba, has officially flag6ed off measlle-rubella vaccination campaign in the council area.

Addressing the occasion, Ogorugba noted that measles and rubella are highly contagious but preventable diseases that continued to pose a serious threat to the lives and well-being of children.

According to the council chairman, following this, he said his administration is commited and decided to partner with the Primary Health Care development agency, the World Health Organisation, UNICEF, among others to safeguard the health and future of children.

While urging all parents and guardians to avail their children between the ages of 9 months to 14 years, regardless of previous vaccination status to the nearest vaccination post to be immunised, Ogorugba, assured the Isoko North children and parents that the measles-rubella vaccination is safe, effective and free of charge.

The Council boss, reiterated his commitment to supporting the 2026 measles-rubella campaign with adequate logistics, security and community mobilisations to protect and safeguard the future of children which is in line with the Renewed Hope for MORE Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State.

He appreciates the tireless efforts of the health workers and partners for making the measles-Rrubella vaccination campaign a reality in Isoko North.
