Former Governor of Delta State and Delta North Senatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has called on Nigerians to see nation-building as a shared responsibility.

In his 66th Independence Anniversary message to Nigerians, Okowa said Nigeria’s journey has not been without challenges, but its strength lies in its resilience, diversity and shared belief in a better Nigeria.

In a post on his social media handles on Thursday, the former governor wrote:

“As Nigeria marks her 66th Independence Anniversary, we are reminded that nation-building is a responsibility we all share. Our journey has not been without challenges, but our strength lies in our resilience, our diversity and our shared belief in a better Nigeria.

“We must continue to build a nation where every generation has the opportunity to thrive and where the sacrifices we make today secure a better tomorrow.

In the message which was tagged with his campaign mantras #ForwardTogether and “Maka Ọganihu Nigeria”, meaning for the Progress of Nigeria, Okowa, who is vying to return to the Senate in 2027 to represent Delta North, urged Nigerians to remain united and committed to building a country where every generation thrives.
