2023 Election: ‘Your Department Is Very Confused’ – US Sec Of State Slammed After Visa Ban On ‘Nigerian Politicians’

Retired American mental health counsellor, Dr Jeffrey Guterman, has taken a swipe at Antony Blinken, the United States Secretary of state after he announced visa restrictions on Nigerian politicians who undermined the country’s 2023 general elections.

BIGPEN NIGERIA (www.bigpenngr.com) reports that Guterman took to the micro-blogging website, Twitter to counter Blinken, saying his department was confused to have announced visa ban weeks after the United States congratulated Nigeria’s President elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Antony Blinken, had in a tweet on Monday, announced the visa ban on individuals who were not named in the tweet.

“We have imposed visa restrictions on specific individuals who undermined the democratic process during Nigeria’s 2023 elections,” he wrote. “We remain committed to supporting Nigerian aspirations to strengthen democracy and rule of law.”, he tweeted.

But Jeffrey Guterman, in a tweet reply, says Antony Blinken’s Department of State was confused over the visa ban policy.
