Senator Ovie Omo Agege has urged the Urhobo people to trust him with the mandate to represent them again in the red chamber, saying, “trust me that I have all it takes to go into the contest and win onbehalf of the party.

Omo-Agege spoke after he was declared winner in the official primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Delta Central senatorial seat held at Udu, Udu in the early hours of Wednesday.

The lawmaker who won all the eight Local Government Areas in the contest, said he was overwhelmed by the confidence his people repose on him by massively voting for him to go back to represent them at the senate.

The senator attributed his landslide victory over his arch-rival, Emerhor to his impressive performance in his first term.

“It was a revalidation for the services I have rendered to the Urhobo nation. The people who voted for me they know me.

“They can trust me that I have all it takes to go into the contest and win onbehalf of the party. I am very confident, he said

Asked about the primary which took place the previous day in Ughelli where Olorogun O’tega Emerhor was alledged to have been elected Omo-Agege said, “I know nothing about what happened anywhere else. This is the only primaries approved by the national working committee of the party, empaneled by the guidelines “.  Solomon Igbiaye from Delta State was the returning officer of the parrallel primary in Ughelli.

He pledged to join the Delta state APrccf gC governorship candidate, Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru to deliver Delta State for President Muhammadu Buhari and APC in 2019.

According to him, in the 2019 presidential election, Buhari will get remarkable votes unlike the 2015 where Delta APC could not get 25% votes for Mr. President.

A confident Omo-Agege warned those who are planning to rig in 2019 to think again.

“The message we got from the Osun election is that if you are not on ground don’t think of it”, he said adding that, “those with plans to rig the elections, they had better perish that thoughts. The federal mights they had used in the past against me is no longer in place”, he said.

Declaring the result, the National Working Committee of APC appointed, Returning  Officer, General Lawrence Onoja (rtd) from Benue state said Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege polled a total of 2,360 out of the 2,414  votes cast, emerging as winner of the election.
