Ogboru Says Posterity Will Judge Okowa On Delta Alleged ‘Blank Budget’ Scandal

Former Labour Party 2015 governorship candidate in Delta State, Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru has said that posterity will surely judge Governor Ifeanyi Okowa if the alleged ‘blank budget’ allegation leveled against him turns out to be true.

He spoke on Saturday in a brief chat with journalists in Effurun, Delta State.

BigPen Online reports that the All Progressives Congress Chieftain, while reacting to questions from newsmen, said it was too early to comment critically on the allegations to whether the Governor was operating a ‘blank budget’ or not saying only time will tell.

When asked as a leader of the opposition party, APC in the state what his party was doing to prod the state government to produce the budget to clear all doubt, Ogboru said that the APC as a party would react when it becomes clear that the allegations are genuine adding that for now they are watching how things play out.

“Am one of the leaders of the party in the state and I think the issue of black budget raised by Dr Cairo Ojougboh was his personal views and as a party, we are watching to see how things goes because they may just wake up and produce a budget over night and what will you do then…you may look stupid so we would just allow posterity judge this government and the ones before it”

Answering reporters questions to how they are managing the internal crisis rocking the APC in the state, Ogboru said there are no crisis in the party, adding that what people called factions are pressure groups within the party that are forming alliances.

“I don’t think there is any crisis in the party in the state. There is any established Exco in the state. There is an established committees in the state, what you are calling factions are not factions, they are pressure groups within the party struggling for the soul of the party in order to ensure that good leadership at the end of the day emerged. I happened to be one of those leading one of the groups, the Light of APC and it is not a faction”.
