Isoko North Chairman Ogorugba Pledges Support for LGAs Information Officers of NUJ, NUIS, Youth Devt

The Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. Elder Prince Godwin Ogorugba, has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting initiatives that promote unity, youth empowerment and development in the council.
Ogorugba gave the assurance on Thursday when he received the leadership of the Local Government Information Officers of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), and the National Union of Isoko Students Worldwide (NUIS), at the Council Secretariat, Ozoro.
Receiving the NUJ delegation, the chairman described the media as a critical partner in promoting development, accountability and constructive engagement between government and the people.
He commended journalists for their role in informing the public and highlighting developmental efforts, and assured the union of his administration’s continued support and cordial relationship.
Ogorugba urged journalists to uphold professionalism and balanced reportage, noting that responsible journalism contributes significantly to peace and unity.
“Sustainable development can only be achieved through collective efforts among government, the media, traditional institutions, youth organisations and community leaders,” he said.
Earlier, the NUJ Local Government Chapter commended the chairman for his accessibility and disposition towards development, expressing optimism that the relationship between the council and the union would grow stronger.
In the same vein, Ogorugba, while receiving the national leadership of NUIS, commended the union for promoting unity and purposeful leadership among Isoko students.

He described students and youths as critical stakeholders in governance and nation-building, stressing that their ideas and aspirations must be given attention in the development process.
The chairman assured that his administration would continue to support initiatives aimed at improving education, entrepreneurship, skills development and opportunities for youths across Isoko North.
He urged the students to remain united, disciplined and focused on their education, assuring them that the council remains open to credible initiatives that would positively impact their lives.
Earlier, the NUIS leadership said the visit was to intimate the chairman of their activities, appreciate his youth-friendly policies and seek stronger collaboration in advancing student welfare.
