Omo-Agege Warns Delta Gov: You’ll be Held Responsible If My Family or I Come Under Attack as Campaigns Begin

Former Deputy President of the 9th Senate and Delta Central Senatorial District candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, has raised the alarm over what he described as “disturbing and increasingly credible threats” to his life and those of his family members.
Omo-Agege, in a statement issued ahead of the commencement of his campaign activities in Delta State, alleged that the threats were emanating from the Delta State Government House in Asaba.
He said the campaign would commence on Thursday with stops in Uvwie Local Government Area and continue across the other seven local government areas in Delta Central.
The former senator called on the Nigerian public, international community, civil society organisations, the media and security agencies to take formal notice of the alleged threats.
Omo-Agege further stated that should anything untoward happen to him or any member of his family, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori should be held responsible and accountable.
“Should anything untoward happen to me or members of my family, the Nigerian people and, more particularly, the Urhobo people of Delta Central Senatorial District should hold the Governor of Delta State, Elder Sheriff Oborevwori, responsible and accountable,” he said.
He urged security agencies to take the allegations seriously and ensure adequate protection for him and his family as political activities intensify in the state.
