‎Sowore Alleges Judicial Bias After Bail Revocation in Tinubu-Related Case ‎

Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has alleged judicial bias after the judge presiding over his case concerning remarks he made about President Bola Tinubu reportedly revoked his bail.

‎In a statement issued via X on Tuesday, Sowore said he was informed that the court had revoked his bail despite his appearance in court on the previous sitting date.

‎According to him, the judge was absent when he appeared in court, prompting his legal team to request a new hearing date.

‎Sowore explained that the matter scheduled for hearing was his application seeking the judge’s recusal from the case. However, he claimed that instead of considering the application, the court moved to revoke his bail.

‎”The agenda for today was to consider my application seeking the judge’s recusal, but instead, he opted to revoke my bail in a bid to assert forceful control over the trial,” Sowore said.

‎The former presidential candidate described the development as a deliberate attempt to influence the proceedings, insisting that he would continue to challenge what he termed injustice through lawful means.

‎Sowore maintained that the actions against him were premeditated but expressed confidence that they would not succeed.

‎”This was all planned, but it shall not prevail. The struggle continues,” he stated.
