Pastor Richmond Leigh, a popular gospel preacher and founder of Father’s House Bible Church in Warri, Delta State, is dead.

The preacher, a medical doctor by profession, died on Friday following complications from deadly coronavirus infection.

Sources from the church who preferred anonymity, said that he passed on a few days ago in an undisclosed hospital in Warri after a brief illness.

His church located at 49 Effurun Sapele Road, Opposite Urhobo College, Warri, is one of the few soul-touching worship centres in the twin cities of Warri and Effurun.

The church house, a gigantic auditorium is one of the first to begin a yearly Christmas programme, “The Nativity of Jesus Christ”, which members of other denominations usually attend.

The Pastor, known for his angelic style of praise and worship and his wife, Dr. Mrs R. Silvia Leigh were former owners of Lily Hospital, Warri, Delta State.

He founded the church Father’s House also known as Richmond Susan Leigh Ministries with satellite branches in Rivers and Lagos states after quitting his successful medical career for the gospel.

He has been married to his Romania-born wife for over 43 years. Tali and Malia as they are fondly called by their children are both medical doctors but now in full time ministry. They had three adult children and six grandchildren.

Pastor Richmond Leigh was in a bitter 26-year-old land dispute with the Ubeji Community in Warri South Council Area of Delta State, until the Supreme Court ruled in his favour, reaffirming he is the bonafide owner of the 7-acre piece of land as was reported by BIGPEN.
