BREAKING! Gunmen Invade Community Near Jonathan’s Home, Kill Four, Abduct One Person

Gunmen on Tuesday invaded the local government council of former President Goodluck Jonathan in Bayelsa State, killing four.

The gunmen, suspected to be sea pirates also left many injured while one person was abducted.

BigPen Online learnt that the invaders had on Monday night attacked Ayama community in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa and repeated the attack on Tuesday afternoon at Ogbia Town.

A source from the area told our correspondent that the invaders stormed Ayama community at about 9:pm, firing direct shots from their speedboats into the town, close to Otuoke, country home of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

In the process, four persons were feared killed and many injured as frightened indigenes, for fear that the gunmen were going to invade their homes scampered to different directions to save their lives.

Sources said that by the time the dust raised by the attack was cleared, four persons laid dead and many injured.

Munalayefa Edwin Gibson, a member of the State House of Assembly representing Ogbia Constituency 2, who confirmed the attack on Tuesday, condemned it in its entirety.

Giving a graphic details, Hon Munalayefa disclosed that the sea robbers sprayed bullets at the community for over 30 minutes before towing away more than ten speed boats.

He said that the same suspected gangs, after the Ayama operations stormed Ogbia Town around 12:30 am Tuesday (today) and kidnapped one Mrs. Augusta Apaga.

“They also went away with four 75 horse powered engines boats parked at the waterfront, he said.

According to him, the entire Ogbia LGA has been thrown into mourning particularly in Ayama Community where three persons are feared dead and two in critical conditions and receiving treatment as a result of stray bullets pumped into the community.

He however described the separate incidence as senseless, wicked and barbaric, frowning at the incessant attack on the defenceless residents along the coastal communities in Ogbia LGA.

The lawmaker while sympathising with the affected communities especially the victims, called on security agencies not to relent in their effort to trail and arrest the perpetrators.

Spokesman of the State Police Command, Asinim Butswat, confirmed the incidence and assured that investigation is on.
