BREAKING: Isoko South Postpones Olomoro Community Election Indefinitely

The chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, Friday Ovoke Warri, has postponed the Olomoro Development Union Central Executive Committee Elections indefinitely.

The postponement followed the brewing tension in the community over who becomes the president general.

This was contained in a statement by secretary to the local government, Eloho Usuofa on behalf of the chairman.

The statement was entitled; “Notice Of Indefinite Postponement Of Olomoro Development Union Central Executive Committee Elections”.

The postponement followed conflicting candidates list, conflicting delegate sources and protests, by passing the constitutionally constituted electoral committee, absence of community executive as well as failure to send a notification to the local government authority among others.

The statement read in parts:

“Notice of indefinite postponement of Olomoro Development Union Central Executive Committee Elections.

“I am directed to inform the general public, especially the citizens of the Olomoro community.

“Arising from the following irregularities: Conflicting candidates list. Conflicting delegate sources and protests. By passing the constitutionally constituted electoral committee. Absence of Community Executive. No notification of local government authority.

“Finally, for the interest of peace and to avoid the breakdown of law and order, the elections into the central executive offices of the Olomoro Development Union are hereby postponed. A new date will be communicated shortly.”, the statement added..

Prior to the postponement, the elections into the Olomoro Development Union Central Executive Committee had been scheduled to take place Saturday, 17, 2025 at the community town hall .
