BREAKING: Tinubu Retains Mele Kyari As NNPCL GCEO, Appoints Board Chairman, Management Team

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Pius Akinyelure as Non-Executive Board Chairman of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) and also retained Mele Kyari as Group Chief Executive Officer of the organization.
BIGPEN NIGERIA (https//:bigpenngr.com) reports that President Tinubu named the new board and management team of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) in a statement released by Special Adviser to the President, Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale.
The appointments is in compliance with Section 59 (2) of the Petroleum Industry Act, 2021.
President Bola Tinubu approved the appointment of a new Board and Management team for the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) with effect from December 1, 2023.
Besides Pius Akinyelure named as Non-Executive Board Chairman, the President retained as Mele Kyari as Group Chief Executive Officer, appointed Umar Ajiya as Chief Financial Officer, Mr. Ledum Mitee as Non-Executive Director, Mr. Musa Tumsa as Non-Executive Director, Mr. Ghali Muhammad as Non-Executive Director, Prof. Mustapha Aliyu as Non-Executive Director, Mr. David Ogbodo as Non-Executive Director, as well as Ms. Eunice Thomas as Non-Executive Director
Furthermore, Tinubu approved the appointment of two Permanent Secretaries which include , Mr. Okokon Ekanem Udo — Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Finance and Gabriel Aduda — Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources
