‎Lagos Police Crack Down on Cult Violence, Arrest 4 Notorious Gang Members in Ojo Raid ‎

‎Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested four suspected notorious cultists and hitmen allegedly linked to a series of violent crimes and killings in Ajanmgbadi, Ojo, and surrounding communities.

‎In a public statement released on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer by SP Abimbola Adebisi, said that preliminary investigations uncovered disturbing evidence allegedly connecting the suspects to multiple violent crimes.

‎Accordin to the statement , the suspects identified as Emmanuel Nwokolo, popularly known as “Oblo” (35), Ayola Israel, alias “Essy Pawpaw” (39), Ebuka Nnamdi (31), and Chinedu Okafor (22), were apprehended during a targeted operation at a hotel in Ajanmgbadi, Ojo Local Government Area, following credible intelligence gathered by the police.

‎lnvestigators reportedly recovered a video from one of the suspects’ mobile phones showing the killing of unidentified individuals within Ajanmgbadi and nearby communities.

‎During interrogation, the suspects allegedly confessed to being members of the notorious Aiye Confraternity and admitted involvement in a series of killings and other criminal activities that had terrorized residents in the area.

‎Further searches carried out by police operatives led to the recovery of three firearms, including two locally fabricated pistols and one revolver pistol, as well as thirteen live cartridges believed to have been used in criminal operations.

‎The police said investigations are ongoing to determine the full extent of the suspects’ involvement in other criminal cases, identify additional gang members, and apprehend fleeing accomplices.

‎The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, CP Tijani Fatai, commended the officers involved in the operation and reiterated the Command’s commitment to combating cultism, violent crime, and other forms of criminality across the state.

‎He assured residents that the Command remains determined to bring perpetrators of violent crimes to justice and urged members of the public to continue supporting law enforcement agencies with credible and timely information.

‎Furthermore, the suspects are expected to be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
