‎Social Influencer and Former Director of Mobilization in the Obidient Movement, Morris Monye, has issued a heartfelt public apology to members of the Obidient Movement and its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, over a controversial resignation letter he previously released.

‎In an open letter addressed to the “Obidient Family,” Monye admitted that he acted out of frustration and immaturity when he wrote and circulated his resignation letter as Director of Mobilization, acknowledging that his emotions clouded his judgment and led him to make statements that unnecessarily reflected negatively on Peter Obi.

‎Describing his actions as “wrong” and “childish,” Monye said the letter fell below the standard expected of someone who once held a leadership position within the movement. He accepted full responsibility for the incident, stressing that no one influenced or edited the letter and that the decision to publish it was entirely his own.

‎Momye who later deleted the resignation letter from his social media, admitted that removing it did not erase the hurt, disappointment, and loss of trust it caused among supporters of the movement.

‎“I understand why some of you no longer respect me the way you once did. You had every right to feel let down,” he stated.

‎Monye also extended a direct apology to Peter Obi, expressing regret over remarks he said did not reflect the values of sacrifice, accountability, and constructive criticism that the former presidential candidate represents.

‎Addressing members of the Obidient Movement, he praised their dedication and resilience, describing them as the “real heroes” of the movement and apologizing for allowing internal disagreements to spill into the public space.

‎”He clarified that his apology was not motivated by a desire to seek any position in the movement, noting that he is currently enjoying private life, but said he felt compelled to apologize because “it is the right thing to do.”

‎However,Monye pledged to rebuild trust through consistent actions rather than words, while acknowledging that forgiveness and restored confidence could only come with time.

‎He further concluded the letter by reaffirming his commitment to a better Nigeria and expressing hope that members of the movement would find it in their hearts to forgive him.
