The decision was made during the local government maiden’s APC meeting following the recent mass defections of former PDP members to APC.

In his remarks at the meeting, Senator Joel-Onowakpo, representing Delta South Senatorial District, reaffirmed that Delta State’s leader within the APC is Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, aligning with directives from the national party leadership and the presidency.

He emphasized that the governorship position remains occupied by the current administration, which is committed to delivering democratic dividends, and urged unity within the party to ensure victory in the 2027 elections.
