Warri Correspondents Pass Vote Of Confidence On Ikeogwu-led Delta NUJ Council

Warri Corespondents chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, has passed a vote of confidence on Comrade Michael Ikeogwu-led executive of the Delta State Council of the Union.
This followed a motion moved by Mr. Theophilus Onojeghen of Warri Today Online and seconded by Voke Uvwie of the Pointer newspaper at the congress of the union held on Monday at the Chapel Secretariat in Warri, Delta state.
Ikeogwu, was a one time secretary and chairman of the NUJ Warri correspondents chapel before he was elected at the state council of the union as chairman.
Arising from the meeting, the Chapel in a communique signed by its chairman, Comrade Okies Veeky and Secretary, Comrade Joe Ogbodu, passed a vote of implicit confidence on the transparent and purposeful leadership of Ikeogwu-led executive of the NUJ Delta State Council..
The Chapel, in the Communique said that it was also in agreement with the resolution of Ikeogwu-led State Executives Council, SEC of NUJ Delta State towards the amicable resolution of the election crisis in State Information Chapel and others within the state.
Consequently, the Chapel appealed for unity amongst Journalists in the State and called on members to support the council whilst stressing the need for members to speak with one voice for a stronger and virile NUJ in the State.
Meanwhile, the Warri Correspondents’ Chapel of the NUJ has congratulated the new Commissioner for Information in the state, Mr. Ehiedu Charles Aniagwu and the Chief Press Secretary, CPS to the governor, Mr. Olisa Ifeajika and urged the duo to use their positions to improve on the welfare of journalists in the state.
The Chapel in the communique also felicitated with the chairman, Managing Director and members of the new Board of DESOPADEC as well as the Chairman, Director General and members of Warri/Uvwie Development Agency on their well deserved appointments.
