Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Madangho Ward 7, Warri South West Local Government Area of Delta State, have formally petitioned the party’s LGA executive committee over alleged misconduct and constitutional violations by the ward chairman, Mr. Roland Osangbajumi.

In the petition, signed by Dennis Abugewa Mene Esq., on behest of prominent party leaders including Mr. Timeyin Madamedon, Tola John, Engr. Abeson Henry, Peter Omagbemi, and Bawo Madamedon, the signatories accused Mr. Osangbajumi of gross misconduct, imposition of leadership, tenure violation, and subversion of internal democratic processes within the ward.

The petition alleged that on February 2, 2026, Mr. Osangbajumi convened a meeting at his private residence and unilaterally announced an already finalized ward executive committee (Exco) list without holding any democratic congress or consensus among members. The petitioners also claim that Mr. Madamedon was assigned the role of Vice Chairman without any transparent election, which he rejected, insisting on a fair process.

Furthermore, the signatories highlighted that Mr. Osangbajumi has refused to release the purported Exco list to party members or call for an inclusive meeting. They accused him of violating several provisions of the APC constitution, including tenure limits, by seeking to contest a third term despite serving two terms (totaling 8 years).

Citing various provisions referring gross violations of the APC Constitution perpetrated by Mr. Roland Osangbajumi, they stated; “Violation of Article 17 (Tenure of Office): Mr. Osangbajumi has served two terms of (8 years) as Ward Chairman. Under Article 17, he is constitutionally barred from contesting or holding the same office for a third term. His attempt to orchestrate a new Exco while remaining at the helm is an illegality”.

They also alleged that his actions amount to factionalism and anti-party activities, undermining the party’s unity and democratic ideals.

The petitioners called on the party leadership to nullify any list generated outside formal democratic processes, enforce tenure limits, and organize a transparent, inclusive election to determine the Ward 7 executives. They emphasized that adherence to the APC constitution is essential to maintain the integrity of the party and prevent hijacking of the ward’s leadership.

The petition was copied to key party stakeholders, including Chief Thomas Ereyitomi, Member representing Warri Federal Constituency, prominent APC Chieftains and Leaders, Warri South West, Chief Ayiri Emami, and Mr. Alex Eyengho.
