Glitz, Glamour At UK Bendel Schools Reunion Party

It was fanfare and pageantry at the 2019 Bendel Schools Reunion Party held last weekend in United Kingdom.

The show packaged by popular UK-based showbiz promoter, Mr Oloye E Oloye, at the Haverstock Banquet Hall London was a resounding success with London popular television, Yanga TV on Sky Channel 453, for the first time highlighting the event in their programmes.

It was night of scintillating shows that were laced with good background music by UK ‘big boy’ disc jockey, DJ Ehis who took guest down memory lane by blasting old school jams and a sprinkle of new school vibes into the wee hours of the morning.

The 8th edition of the annual event was a blast with avalanche of activities all through the night to entertain the guest who flew in from around the world. The highlight of the side attraction being the knotting of tie by women and tying of head tire (Gele) by men as coordinated by the duo of Mc Conrand and Princess Osta.

Prior to this, Mr Ritchie George, who declared the event open had warmly welcomed the guest and spoke glowingly about the importance of the annual reunion and the target of giving back to the alma-mater.

Hon. Emmanuel Usoh, the erstwhile Commissioner of Wealth Creation in Edo State who also flew all the way from Nigeria to grace this August event as special guest of honour, also spoke about the importance of the reunion and how imperative it is for the Diaspora community to continue to bond and strengthen both professional and personal relationships.

Hon. Usoh who is an alumnus of Victory Primary School, Edo College, Ekpoma and University of Benin, UNIBEN respectively, commended the Chief Executive Officer of Bendel Schools Reunion, Mr Oloye E Oloye and his team for organising the laudable event.

The red carpet at the event was beautifully coordinated by the Nigeria born photographer, Riyike Alayande whilst the event was covered by Mo Media.

An elated Oloye, however expressed gratitude to all those who graced the occasion and added glamour to it, specifically thanking the main sponsors, Wave and Media partners Yanga TV and BEN TV UK.

Oloye, who has been coordinating the event for years, said that the idea is to bring all Bendel Schools students all over the world together in an umbrella body with the aim of chanting a common front on issues and helping their Alma mater.

The showbiz guru, however thanked his Nigeria media partners, Sulai Aledeh, publisher of aledeh.com as well as Joe Ogbodu, publisher of BIGPEN NIGERIA (bigpenngr.com), who had promoted the event for years and other partners namely, Paul Ofoni, Endy Brown, Christian Anenih, Emmanuel Oshiomokhare, Etimbuk P. , Rachel Eze, Paul Eqouria for contributions to the success of the 8th edition.

Besides, he commended Mr Ritchie George, Conrad Ononeme, Princess Osta, Ene Oloye, Pamela Okah, Hon Emmanuel Usoh, who is also an Ambassador for Bendel schools Reunion.

Oloye also send words of gratitude to Mr and Mrs Erhijakpor, M Nwabudike, Omoye Osuide Mrs Angela Ebagua and the Esan community UK, Mr John Emore, Evelyn Iyeyemi Ken Olaghere, and his partner Aina Omobare.

Others whom he commended are, representatives of alumni ambassador, Joe Ehi, Omo Oboteman Atenaga, Anthony Peters , Irene Eribo, St Teresa’s college Ibadan and Mrs Forsyth for providing the bags souvenirs for the event.
