A Special Assistant to Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, Comrade Victor Egbo was locked out of Government House Asaba, the state capital on Thursday following an alleged attempts to disrupt a meeting convey by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), with Isoko National Youth Assembly (INYA) led by Comrade Ovie Umuakpo.

It was gathered that Governor Okowa had during the week directed the SSG to meet with the Umuakpo-led youths group to address their grievances, particularly on the blockage of Isoko-Kwale-Asaba which caused many passengers and motorists to be stranded on Monday.

BigPen Online learnt that Egbo, an aide to the governor on youth development, who is also a factional president of Isoko National Youth Assembly had mobilized youths to stormed the Government House to protest the meeting with his main rival but he was locked out.

A source said that Egbo reportedly disgraced himself at Government House as security guard at the gate denied him and one Dracula Ogbalor who hired youths to disrupt the meeting access to the premises.

The source said that while Egbo and his group were outside the gate shouting under the scorching sun to be allowed access, Umuakpo and his executive members were already meeting the SSG, marshalling out their grievances and the need for government to address the vex issues.

A member of Umuakpo-led INYA, Eniwake Orogun said, “Hon Victor Egbo led some unknown faces to government house to try to disrupt the meeting but were locked outside the gate.

“He is struggling real hard to get the attention of the SSG, shouting Okowa is our leader, I want to talk, Askia matter na our matter etc.

“He’s begging for the gate to be opened. He came with Dracula”.

Egbo and members of his faction had stormed Government House hoping that they would be invited apparently if they create tension in the environment, a source said.

BigPen Online recalls that Umuakpo-led INYA had on Monday barricaded the ever busy Isoko-Kwale-Asaba expressway to protest plans by the Okowa’s administration to reduce the Isoko section of the busy Isoko-kwale-Asaba expressway to a single lane while other section were implemented as dual carriageway.

The youths had also protested against non-challant attitude of the multinationals oil companies operating in Isoko land towards their corporate social responsibility to various Isoko communities.
