Warri Mourns Uduaghan At Erowa/Umeh Empowerment, Gives N50k Grant To 200 Residents

The Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area, Hon. Friday Ovoke Warri, has mourned former Delta State Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan, who died on Monday, October 19, 2026, at the age of 71.
Uduaghan served as Governor of Delta State from 2007 to 2015.
Warri paid tribute to the late former governor during the Councillors’ Mega Ward Empowerment Programme in Erowa/Umeh Ward, where he led a minute of silence in his honour.
The council chairman recalled Uduaghan’s role in the advocacy that led to the construction of Umeh Road through the Umeh Needs Road (UNR) initiative, describing it as a significant intervention that addressed the community’s longstanding infrastructure challenges.
He said the project remains an important part of the community’s development history, having improved access and drawn attention to the infrastructural needs of the area.
Warri extended condolences to the Uduaghan family, praying for strength to bear the loss, and urged Deltans, particularly residents of Isoko South, to remember the former governor for his contributions to the state.
At the empowerment programme, Warri reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to grassroots development, disclosing that N50,000 cash grants were being given to 200 beneficiaries in Umeh/Erowa Ward as part of the first phase of the initiative to support small businesses and stimulate economic activities at the grassroots.
He said the programme, which will cover all 20 wards in Isoko South, is designed to ensure residents have access to opportunities to improve their economic well-being, and urged beneficiaries to invest the support in productive ventures.
The Councillors’ Mega Ward Empowerment Programme was flagged off earlier in the week at Oleh Civic Centre before moving to Irri. It will continue in Igbide, Olomoro, Emede and other wards.
