The three new Area Commands are Agbor, Ozoro and Sapele were craved from the existing Area Commands of Asaba, Ughelli and Warri.

Making the announcement, Ibrahim said that the additional Commands were created as part of efforts geared towards bringing policing nearer to the grassroots in line with the policy on Community Policing.

“The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Idris K. Ibrahim psc, mni has approved the creation of new Area Commands across the country and fortunately, Delta State Command is one of the beneficiaries of this laudable objective”, he said.

The CP who was enthused with this development, described it as an ongoing process and noted that more Area Commands and Divisions will in due course be created by the police hierarchy to enhance effective service delivery to the people.
