Develop Oil Producing Communities And The Niger Delta Crisis Will Be Over – Ogulagha Monarch Advises FG

The traditional ruler of Ogulagha Kingdom in Burutu, Local Government Area of Delta State, HRM Joseph Timiyan has called on the Federal Government to develop the Niger –Delta region saying this will bring an end to the crisis and hostilities in the region.
He also urged the Pan Niger Delta Peoples Congress (PNDPC) and the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) to join forces in the interest of the region.
Timiyan who spoke to newsmen in Warri said, “It is the oil producing kingdoms and communities that are underdeveloped and marginalized.
Therefore, further discussions or efforts by the Federal Government should be focused on the oil producing communities”.
He also spoke of the importance of a united front when negotiating with the Federal Government as this will help increase the chances of success in the negotiation process.
“With a united PNDPC and PANDEF, the Federal Government will know that we mean business and are committed to the development of our region.
“They (Federal Government) will not continue to give us excuse for not acting.
HRM Joseph Timiyan who was a founding member of PANDEF, but move with other aggrieved members to form PNDPC said the Government should as a matter of urgency open negotiation with PANDEF on the way forward.
