The Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA), has directed the Vice Chancellor of Delta State University Abraka to release the final year result of one Solomon Ejiro Tedjere immediately, and to graduate him in order for him to proceed with his National Youth Service Corp, (NYSC).
The student had petitioned the House through the lawmaker representing Ethiope East Constituency, Hon. Evance Ivwurie who presented the matter before the House on 15th March, 2017.
Following the petition as presented by Hon. Ivwurie over the non release of his constituent, Mr. Solomon Tedjere degree result by DELSU, the Delta State House of Assembly Public Petitions Committee on Tuesday presented its report entitled: “the alleged victimization and unjustifiable withholding of the final result belonging to Mr. Solomon Ejiro Tedjere by the Delta State University, Abraka five (5) years after graduation”.
BigPen Online recalls that Hon. Ivwurie had after making frantic effort to get the University to see reason engaged the services of the law firm, Oviemuno Obobolo Esq to petition the DTHA.
The report of the Public Petitions Committee which was tendered before Speaker, Rt.Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, however recommended that the House should direct the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Victor F. Peretomode to show evidence of compliance to the directive within two weeks of the passage of the resolution.
The Petitioner, Mr. Oviemuno Obobolo Esq. who wrote on behalf of Mr. Solomon Ejiro Tedjere, a student of Agricultural Science in the Department of Vocational Education, Delta State University, Abraka, had appealed to Delta State House of Assembly  (DTHA) to investigate the alleged victimization by the University and unjustly withholding his final result five years after graduation on account of an unsubstantiated claim.
Speaking at the Hallowed Chamber, the Chairman of the Public Petitions Committee Hon. (Alaowei) Tonye Timi, who is also the honourable member representing Patani State Constituency in DTHA, said in carrying out this investigation upon the presentation of the petition to the House by Hon. Evance Ivwurie, the Committee invited both parties  to wit:
The University represented by the Vice Chancellor Professor Victor Peretomode, the University Legal Officer B. A. Oyawiri Esq and the Petitioner with his Lawyer who appeared before it severally.
The Committee said the report/recommendation undergone proper investigation and came up with this recommendation, saying it is pertinent to note that the report has taken a strong position against the action of singling Mr. Solomon Ejiro Tedjere out for cruel or unjust treatment after graduating five years ago.
According to the Public Petitions Committee, throughout the period of this investigation the University could not substantially prove to the Committee that the Petitioner was found unworthy in character or in learning and does not qualify for the award of the University degree and therefore recommended that the House should direct the Vice Chancellor of Delta State University Abraka to immediately release the final year result of Mr. Solomon Ejiro Tedjere, and to graduate him accordingly in order to enable him proceed with his National Youth Service Corp.
Media aide of Hon. Evance Ivwurie, Christopher Odamah in a statement said the House also recommended that the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Victor F. Peretomode should show evidence of compliance to this directive within two weeks of the passage of this resolution.
