Senate President Bukola Saraki says he will respond to the police in writing within 48 hours.

BigPen Online had earlier reported that the police withdrew their invitation and rather he (Saraki) should respond within 48 hours in writing

The police had stated that five suspects involved in the Bank robbery in Offa, Kwara state, confessed being thugs of the Senate President.

While parading the suspects in Abuja, Jimoh Moshood, police spokesman, said Saraki’s alleged links to them would be investigated.

Saraki had denied the allegation, noted that the frame-up will fail and also promise he will honour the police invitation

Meanwhile, he sent his aide de camp to get the letter of invitation from the police earlier on Monday.

In a tweet, Saraki confirmed that he had been asked to write to the police and not appear in person.

He also said he would do so within 48 hours, as directed by the police.

“Following my earlier tweet, I have received the letter from police. They are no longer asking me to appear at any station, but to respond in writing to the allegations within 48 hours — which I plan to do,” his tweet.
