Ogorugba Congratulates Oborevwori, Deltans for Remarkable Growth, Peaceful Coexistence as Delta Clocks 35

The Executive Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Hon. Prince Godwin Ogorugba, has congratulated the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, and the people of the state on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of the creation of Delta State.

Ogorugba, in a goodwill message marking the anniversary, described Delta State’s 35-year journey as one characterised by resilience, remarkable growth, peaceful coexistence and the immense contributions of its people to the development of the state and Nigeria at large.

He congratulated Governor Oborevwori on the milestone and commended his administration for its commitment to the peace, progress and development of Delta State, describing the governor’s leadership as a reflection of the collective aspirations of Deltans for a more prosperous and united state.

According to him, the 35th anniversary provides a valuable opportunity for Deltans to reflect on the journey so far, celebrate the achievements recorded over the years, acknowledge the sacrifices of past and present leaders, and renew their collective determination to build a stronger and more prosperous Delta State.

Ogorugba noted that Delta State is blessed with abundant human and natural resources, stressing that the effective utilisation of these resources, coupled with responsible leadership, unity, peace and the active participation of citizens, remains critical to the state’s continued growth and development.

He particularly commended the people of Delta State for their resilience, enterprise, hard work and unwavering contributions to the development of their communities and the state. He urged Deltans across the three senatorial districts to continue to promote peace, unity and mutual respect, irrespective of ethnic, political or religious differences.

The Isoko North Council Chairman further called on the people of the state to give the Oborevwori administration the necessary support and cooperation to enable it deliver more dividends of democracy to the people.

He stressed that the responsibility for building a better Delta should not be left solely to government, urging citizens, traditional rulers, community leaders, political stakeholders, business owners, professionals, youths and other residents to contribute meaningfully to the development of the state.

“Delta State belongs to all of us, and its development is a collective responsibility. Government can provide leadership and direction, but the active support, cooperation and constructive participation of the people are equally essential to achieving sustainable development. As we celebrate 35 years of our dear state, let us put aside our differences and work together for the peace, unity and prosperity of Delta State. We must continue to support initiatives that promote development, encourage investment, create opportunities for our people and improve the quality of life across our communities,

“As we celebrate this important milestone, I urge every Deltan to remain committed to the ideals of peace, unity, good governance and sustainable development. Let us support our government, contribute our quota and work together to build the Delta State we all desire. May God continue to bless Delta State, guide our leaders, strengthen Governor Sheriff Oborevwori with wisdom and good health, and grant peace, prosperity and progress to all our people. May our dear state continue to grow from strength to strength and remain a land of opportunity, peace and prosperity for present and future generations.” Ogorugba said.

Ogorugba also prayed for Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, asking God to grant him greater wisdom, strength, sound health and divine guidance as he continues to pilot the affairs of the state. He equally prayed for peace, progress and prosperity for all Deltans, saying that the future of the state would be brighter when its people remain united and committed to the common good.

The council chairman urged Deltans to remain optimistic about the future and continue to support programmes and policies capable of advancing the state, while encouraging everyone to see themselves as stakeholders in the Delta project.
