Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State on Thursday lauded what he described as developmental achievements of the chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area, Godwin Ogorugba.

The governor who was represented by the deputy governor, Monday Onyeme gave the commendation during the commissioning of several projects executed by the council chairman in Isoko North.

The Governor reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to “finishing strong” and extending the benefits of democracy to rural communities through his M.O.R.E Agenda.

Oborevwori praised the council chairman for delivering “tangible dividends of democracy” in alignment with the M.O.R.E Agenda of his administration.

He said, “It is with immense joy and deep satisfaction that I stand here today, not just as your Governor, but as a proud witness to the tangible dividends of democracy being delivered right here at the grassroots. I must commend the leadership of the Isoko North Local Government Council for recognizing the need for accelerated development; I also thank you for your kind words regarding the work my administration has done under the M.O.R.E Agenda. The progress you see in Asaba, Warri, and across our three senatorial districts must be mirrored here, where our people live and work.

“Chairman, Hon. Godwin Ogorugba, you and your team will recall that upon your swearing-in in July 2024, I issued a clear and unambiguous marching order: utilize the available resources to execute people-oriented projects, projects that are felt and owned by the populace. The goal was simply to ensure that the dividends of democracy do not stop at the state capital, but flow directly into our communities. Today, as we gather to mark your one-year anniversary in office, I am delighted to confirm that you have not just answered the call, you have exceeded expectations.

“You have translated the vision of the M.O.R.E Agenda: Meaningful development; Opportunities for all; Realistic reforms, and Enhanced peace and security into concrete, visible reality. These projects are symbols of improved governance, economic empowerment, and renewed pride in your local government. To the people of Isoko North, these projects belong to you, you are the beneficiaries, and you are also the custodians, I urge you all to take ownership of these facilities, guard them jealously, ensure they are well-maintained, and see that they serve the purpose for which they were built for generations to come.

The President General of Ozoro Kingdom, Mr. Berkley Asiafa, said the Isoko people are peaceful and industrious.
