APC Chieftain Describes Ned Nwoko As a Shining Star in the National Assembly

A respected political strategist and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State, Chief Emma Ejiofor, has described Senator Ned Nwoko as a “shining star in the National Assembly,” commending his bold, visionary leadership in championing the Anioma cause.

Speaking in an interview, Chief Ejiofor, said that Senator Nwoko’s legislative acumen had made him one of the best in the Senate, expressing optimism that his proposal for the creation of Anioma State was a “done deal”.

He expressed his full support for the Senator’s ongoing legislative push for the state’s actualization.

According to Ejiofor, Nwoko’s move is not only strategic but historic, marking a turning point in the decades-long agitation for the recognition of Anioma as a distinct state within Nigeria.

“Senator Ned Nwoko’s move is commendable and long overdue,” Ejiofor said. “I fully support his efforts. The creation of Anioma State is now a done deal. What we are witnessing now is the culmination of years of advocacy, and the time for action is now.”

Ejiofor emphasized that Senator Nwoko is widely loved by constituents and respected by his colleagues in the National Assembly, where his influence continues to grow.

“He is a shining star in the National Assembly. Anioma people will be proud anytime they walk into that chamber and see their senator in action. Nwoko is an asset not only to Anioma but to the entire nation,” Ejiofor stated.

The push for Anioma State, which would comprise the Igbo-speaking communities of Delta North, has been a long-standing aspiration rooted in the region’s quest for fair representation and accelerated development. The current momentum, Ejiofor believes, is the closest Anioma has come to achieving that goal.

The demand for state creation traces back to the 1950s when political leaders from the Aboh and Asaba divisions championed the idea in the Western Regional House of Assembly. That vision, Ejiofor noted, is now being brought to life through the legislative advocacy of Senator Nwoko.

He further acknowledged that past efforts were often hindered by internal disunity and fragmented leadership structures. However, he expressed confidence that the current political will and cohesion, driven by Nwoko’s initiative, have created a favorable environment for success.

Support for Anioma State is steadily gaining traction across national and regional lines. Ejiofor cited the increasing endorsements from community leaders, women’s groups, and elders councils as proof of a growing consensus around the statehood demand.

He also underscored the economic potential of the proposed Anioma State, pointing to its vast agricultural resources, strategic geographic location, and enterprising population as solid foundations for sustainable development.

“Anioma is ready,” Ejiofor noted. “With a leader like Senator Nwoko at the forefront, we are confident that the goal will be achieved. He is leading with integrity and courage, and all Anioma people, and indeed Nigerians, should be proud.”

With Ejiofor’s influential endorsement and Nwoko’s momentum in the National Assembly, the movement for Anioma State continues to gather pace, with growing optimism that its creation is on the horizon.
