  • Says PDP Will Wax Stronger In The Days Ahead

Immediate past Governor of Delta State, on Monday, spoke for the first time of how his journey in the All Progressive Congress (APC) was before he took the second decision to retrace his step back to the main opposition party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) where he is a pioneer founding member.

Uduaghan who re-registered to become member of the PDP membership at his unit in Ward 6, Abigborodo, Warri North council area of the state, said that despite the fact that he was in the APC, “It feels like I never left” (referring to PDP).

BIGPEN reports that addressing a mammoth crowd, who had thronged the venue to catch a glimpse of him, Uduaghan described his sojourn to the APC as a mission to “find out what is happening there”.

He alluded that his PDP membership was dormant all this while and it has been reactivated with his returning to re-register as it is customary of anyone who defect and is coming back to his/her former fold.

“I only stepped out for a few days to find out what is happening there and I have come back to strengthen the party. Today, I have come to reactivate my membership card. I have picked it up.

“I am hearing that there are a few challenges, we have the manpower, the experience to be able to elevate our area and the people of Delta state, and that we shall do.

“We will get our own of whatever is due to us by God’s grace. We will get what is due us. I am sure there is very little I don’t know about this state. I promise you that collectively, as we are standing here now, we shall sit as often as possible and articulate our issue”.

He, however, commended the Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, for his efforts in holding the party together since he emerged leader of the party in the state.

“I want to thank Gov. Ifeanyi Okowa, who has been holding every part of the state since he became governor. It is not easy. I want to urge all of us to continue to pray for him so that he can complete his tenure”.

While commending President Muhammddu Buhari who is leading a troubled APC federal government for “doing his best”, Uduaghan, would later in his verified Facebook page, said he was back to help other great minds in the PDP to strengthen the party ahead 2023 political year.

“I am back to join forces with other party greats to strengthen our party, the largest Party in Africa -PDP!

“Having tasted the other side, it feels refreshing to be back home! Thank you all for receiving me back. It feels like I never left”, the erstwhile governor wrote.

BIGPEN recalls that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa had on Sunday, urged Nigerians to support the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to take over governance in the country in 2023.

The governor who spoke at a thanksgiving service by Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Delta, Chief Kingsley Esiso, in Sapele, said the PDP would do everything possible with the support of the people of Nigeria to win the 2023 presidential election and restore good governance, including infrastructural development in the country.

Okowa stated that the party was working very hard to win more states in the country as a precursor to getting back control of the presidency which it lost in 2015.

According to Governor Okowa, with the abysmal performance of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led Federal Government, Nigerians are already convinced on the imperative of voting back PDP to power in 2023.
