BREAKING: Okowa Sends Bills To Assembly To Upgrade COE Agbor, Ozoro Poly, One Other To Varsity
Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa has forwarded to the Delta State House of Assembly three bills to upgrade three higher Institutions in the State to universities.
BIGPENNGR.COM reports that the governor, in the letter urged the Assembly, to upgrade the College of Education Agbor, to a University of Education, Anwai Campus of the Delta State University, to Delta State University of Science and Agriculture, and the Ozoro Polytechnic, to Delta State University of Science and Technology.
The letters were read at the floor of the house by the Speaker, Rt. Hon Sheriff Oborevwori today, January 27, 2021.
In the letter, the Governor stated that the move was as a continuous increase in the number of Deltans jostling for space into the few existing universities as a result of the increase in the number of admission seekers.
He further stated that the decision was also to meet up with the federal government decision to upgrade educational and technical education in the country by having degree awarding institutions in these areas.
