Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Southern Delta University, Ozoro, Prof. Presly Obukoadata; media scholar, Comrade Norbert Chiazor, PhD; and CSP Gladys Imegwu have been named panellists for the 2026 Annual Conference of the Delta Online Publishers Forum (DOPF).

The conference, with lecture series, holds on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, at 11 a.m. at David’s Event Centre, GRA, Asaba, with the theme “Democracy Under Pressure: Electoral Integrity, Security Challenges and Media Accountability.”

Governor Sheriff Oborevwori is expected as Special Guest of Honour.

According to DOPF Chairman, Emmanuel Enebeli, the forum will bring together journalists, scholars, security professionals and public officials to interrogate credible elections, public safety and responsible journalism.

Prof. Obukoadata, DVC and Dean, Faculty of Communication Technology, Southern Delta University, is a brand and strategic communication scholar with over 50 publications. He is expected to speak on media’s role in protecting electoral integrity and countering misinformation in the AI age.

Chiazor, journalist, author popularly known as “Wordsmith” and former Delta NUJ Chairman (2011-2017), who served as Executive Assistant on Media to former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and now to Oborevwori, will speak on media independence, ethics and fact-based reporting during elections.
