Osinbajo’s Tweet Confirms Reports Of ‘Cabal’ Being After His Job, Ready To Waive His Immunity If…

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo’s tweet Wednesday reportedly confirmed series of reports in which it is being alleged that a certain cabal in the Presidential villa are after his job.
He alluded to the fact that there are several “baseless allegations, insinuation and falsehoods against his person and office”.
Notwithstanding his declaration of the claims in which reports say he may be “impeached or forced to resign” as “baseless allegations, insinuation and falsehood”, the Vice President, however promised to waive his constitutional immunity if the need arises.
Laolu Akande, Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Publicity, quoted Osinbajo, as saying that he declared his readiness to waive his constitutional immunity to “enable the most robust adjudication” of several baseless allegations, insinuation and falsehoods against his person and office.
The statement said that Prof. Osinbajo made this declaration in a tweet he personally authored Wednesday afternoon.

“In the past few days, a spate of reckless and malicious falsehoods have been peddled in the media against me by a group of malicious individuals.
“The defamatory and misleading assertions invented by this clique had mostly been making the social media rounds anonymously.
“I have today instructed the commencement of legal action against two individuals, one Timi Frank and another Katch Ononuju, who have put their names to these odious falsehoods.
“I will waive my constitutional immunity to enable the most robust adjudication of these claims of libel and malicious falsehood.”
