Kogi Residents Pledge Support for Tinubu, Ododo Over Infrastructure Projects

Residents of Kogi State have pledged to support President Bola Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in the next general elections, citing ongoing infrastructure projects and development initiatives that they say have improved livelihoods across the state.

‎The commitment was made during an inspection tour of federal and state projects in Yagba West Local Government Area by members of the Presidential Media Team and the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA).

‎Speaking while receiving the delegation, the Kogi State Commissioner for Environment and Ecological Management, Dr. Joseph Oluwasegun, said the people of Egbe and surrounding communities had witnessed unprecedented development under the current administration.

‎According to him, Governor Ododo has constructed about 15 kilometres of internal roads in Egbe, upgraded public facilities, and ensured the appointment of two commissioners and other top government officials from the area.

‎Oluwasegun also noted that Governor Ododo had visited Egbe twice since assuming office, describing the visits as the first of their kind in the community’s history.

‎”For the first time in the history of Egbe, a governor has visited us twice. We have seen new roads, schools and hospitals, and our people are genuinely grateful. We have never had it this good,” he said.

‎The commissioner further attributed the projects to the support provided by the Federal Government, praising President Tinubu for increasing funding to states and establishing the North Central Development Commission to accelerate development in the region.

‎

‎”We will express our appreciation through our votes in the next elections because these projects have positively impacted our communities,” he added.

‎

‎Also speaking, the Chairman of Yagba West Local Government Area, Ologun Tosin, commended the rapid execution of the 15-kilometre road project in Egbe, saying it had significantly reduced travel time and improved safety for residents.

‎He said the people of the area were committed to reciprocating the development efforts of both the President and the governor at the polls.

‎The Director-General of the Kogi State Road Maintenance Agency, Engr. Bolaji Taye, explained that although the roads were executed through direct labour to reduce costs, they were built to meet international standards and ensure durability.

‎Leading the inspection team, the President’s Special Adviser on Public Communication, Chief Sunday Dare, said the Tinubu administration remained committed to delivering critical infrastructure nationwide.

‎He disclosed that the Federal Government had recently awarded additional road construction contracts in Kogi and other states to improve transportation, facilitate trade and boost economic activities.

‎

‎Similarly, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Public Engagement, Fredrick Nwabufo, said the administration was prioritising the rehabilitation and construction of strategic road networks across the country.

‎

‎He noted that several parts of Nigeria had become active construction sites as part of the government’s drive to improve connectivity and ease the movement of people and goods.

‎Vanguard repot that  Kogi State Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo, also commended the Federal Government for awarding the reconstruction of the Kabba–Egbe–Omuaran Federal Highway, describing the road as one that had previously deteriorated to the point of disrupting transportation.

‎The Renewed Hope Ambassadors are currently touring federal and state government projects in Kogi State to assess the progress of ongoing infrastructure development.
