Chairman of the Isoko South Local Government Council of Delta State, Friday Ovoke Warri, Thursday officially flagged off the 2025 Immunisation Plus Days (NIPDs), with charge on community leaders and parents to ensure their wards below three years participate to guarantee the success of the exercise.

Warri also urged residents across the local government area to provide full support for the campaign, which will run from Saturday, June 28, through Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025.

Speaking during the ceremony in Okpolo Enwhe, the council chairman, represented by his vice, Theresa Ikrike, emphasised the significance of commitment from all stakeholders, disclosed that the campaign targets children aged 0-59 months, with officials stressing that realising its objectives will necessitate the collective effort of all Isoko South citizens to ensure a healthier future for the local children.

Warri specifically tasked parents, religious leaders, and school administrators to ensure the targeted individuals receive immunisation.

“Today, we shift our focus to our youngest constituents, children between 0 and 59 months old. These children are the future of Isoko South, and it is our collective responsibility to safeguard their health and secure their future.”

According to the council chairman, the immunisation drive was not only about administering vaccines but also about building population herd immunity and strengthening local healthcare resilience by ensuring that as many eligible children as possible are vaccinated.

“As we launch this campaign across Isoko South, we anticipate the full support of our parents, community leaders, and religious bodies to ensure its success.”, Warri added.
