Details Emerge How Former Delta First Lady Died In London Hospital

Fresh details have emerged how former Delta State First Lady, Mrs. Edna Ibru, passed away in a London hospital after a brief illness.
Edna, who was the wife of former Governor Olorogun Felix Ibru, Mrs. Ibru made history as the first civilian First Lady of Delta State.
She was also a former Miss Nigeria, crowned in 1964, and the first Nigerian/African representative at the Miss Universe pageant.
Mrs. Ibru’s son, Dr. Paul Aidido Ibru, confirmed her passing in a statement on Saturday.
He, described her as “a lover of people, a mediator, a mother to many, outrageously humorous, deeply caring, down to earth, full of stories all of the time.”
She had two children for Olorogun Felix Ibru who was the first democratically elected executive governor of Delta State between 1991 to 1992.
The statement which said, the deceased, who died in her 80s, reads. “Our amazing mother passed into glory on Wednesday 15, January, 2025 after a brief illness”.
“Until her death, she was full of life and we never expected her to leave us so soon but we cannot question the will of God in her precious life”.
“She was a lover of people, a mediator, a mother to many, outrageously humorous, deeply caring, down to earth, full of stories all of the time, and we will miss her very dearly.”
He said that the family will announce funeral arrangements at a later date.
