The Delta State Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, has ordered massive deployment across the state, including undercover operatives from the State Intelligence Department to monitor activities and identify potential troublemakers ahead the planned nationwide hunger protest.

The CP, in a statement released by the State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, also called on organizers of the planned nationwide protest to submit relevant details of their activities to ensure a peaceful and secure environment.

He said that the request was in compliance with the directive of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun.

The required details include the protest assembly point and routes, expected duration, names and contact details of leaders and organizers, and measures to prevent hijack by criminal elements.
