Teargas Fired As Accreditation For Delta PDP Guber Primary Becomes Chaotic

Pandemonium has broken out at the venue of the accreditation of delegates for the Delta State People Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary in Asaba, the state capital.

BIGPENNGR.COM reports that security operatives released volumes of teargas at the entrance of the state government owned, Dome event centre as the process became chaotic stems from the large number of people struggling to enter the venue

Accreditation of delegates and other officials for the primary election had commenced around 8am but it became uncontrollably for policemen manning the entrance when crowd of supporters, delegates and officials surge the gate prompting the teargas.

It was gathered that after the accreditation, delegates would be transported with vehicles to the Stephen Keshi stadium, Asaba, the venue of the governorship primary election.

As of the time of filing in this report, official and economic activities have been crippled and several public roads barricaded while security have been beefed up at the Stephen Keshi’s stadium – the venue of the primaries.
