BREAKING: Itsekiri Leader, Wife Reportedly Found Dead In Their Warri Residence

An Itsekiri leader and the Emeritus Director of Warri Choral Society, Pa. Joe Ayomike and his wife, Chinyere, have been reportedly found dead in their Warri residence with their corpses already decomposing.

BIGPENNGR understands Pa. Joe Ayomike, is the younger brother to renowned Itsekiri historian, Late Pa. Johnson Oritsegbubemi Sunday Ayomike, popularly known as Pa. JOS Ayomike.

Pa. JOS Ayomike was the vibrant and popularly former Chairman of Itsekiri Leaders of Thought who died (Wednesday) 4th October, 2017. He was aged 90 on April 7th, 2017.

The younger Ayomike and his wife popularly known as Lady Chi-Chi, were found dead on the morning of Monday June 28 in their residence at GRA, beside Nana College, Warri in Delta State, according to report in Fresh Angle Newspaper.

Details of what led to their death were sketchy as of the time of this report but report says policemen from the Area Command, Warri, were at the scene at the early hours of the day.

According to the report, welders were mobilized apparently to break the lock on the gate and doors to enable men of the Nigerian Police and sympathizers, who thronged the scene gain full access to the residence to catch a glimpse of the scene.

“The late Pa. Joe Ayomike’s driver and security man, were not seen at the residence, when sympathizers rushed to the home in early hours of the day, the tabloid reported, saying “the driver did not respond to calls put through his mobile line, but later came around as the security man’s whereabout remained unknown”, the report reads.

However, State Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Edafe Bright told BIGPENNGR that the deaths are confirmed but declined comment as to what led to the death of Pa. Ayomike and his wife.

” Yes it is confirmed but I can’t say for now what led to his death or his wife. No arrest has been made so far”, the PPRO said.

The Pa. Joe Ayomike, attended London School of Economics and Political Science, LSE and lived in England.

He built Agura Hotel, the first Five-Star hotel in Abuja City Centre, which was opened in 1986.  Late Pa. Joe Ayomike, was also Managing Director of the hotel, when he decided to run as Mayor of the City.

In 1992, he founded the Warri Choral Society, WCS, where he used to organize a two-hour concert, conducted by his wife, Chi-Chi Ayomike, who had PhD and was Senior Lecturer at the Delta State University, Abraka.
