COVID-19: Governor Okowa Self-Isolates After Contact With Delta Lawmaker Who Just Returned From U.S

Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of oil-rich Delta state may have likely gone into self-isolation following his recent contact with the Majority Leader of the State House of Assembly, Hon Tim Owhefere who just returned from a trip in the United States of America.
BIGPEN learnt that the governor may have gone into self-isolation alongside the lawmaker who had voluntarily took the test and decided to self-isolate.
BIGPEN gathered that Okowa and Owhefere met last week Friday after he landed Nigeria and had dinner together. “The governor and Owhefere shook hands and even hugged during the visit”, our source added.
Owhefere had cut short his trip to Atlanta, U.S at the wake of the plot to oust the House Speaker, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori.
Dependable source said that he met Okowa Friday night to discuss about the House crisis and how to save Oborevwori.
A source said though Owhefere was not at the virus prone part of the U.S and had no possibility of contracting the infection since he couldn’t go out of his apartment but left Atlanta for Nigeria following the lock down ordered by the U.S government.
Prior to this, BIGPEN reliable gathered that there was fear of coronavirus outbreak at the Government House Asaba following Governor Okowa’s meeting with some Italians who had paid him a courtesy visit last week.
BIGPEN exclusively gathered that Owhefere, heeding to advise, decided to observe self-isolation at his Asaba residence as from today, Monday though he has not shown any sign or symptom of the deadly virus.
A medical doctor privy to the development, told BIGPEN Monday night that sample has been taken from Owhefere for test and that the test result would be out tomorrow, Tuesday.
Some staff including security personnel attached to him who has been with him since his return has been urged to observe self-isolation.
Governor Okowa is expecting the result of the test to know his status, the source who pleaded anonymity said, expressing optimism that the result would turn out negative.
